Week 3 – Spring in Sointula

For week 3 I got inspired by the seasonal change, the tides were at its lowest and highest during this week – exposing some fun creatures. The weather also came in a variety of patterns, with some days being incredibly sunny, pouring down rain with hail and big wind storms that could push you over. Keeping it consistent with the previous weeks, I have focused on taking close up photos, with the exception of a couple landscapes, and playing with aperture and some shutter speed – however I didn’t get to experiment with it as much as I would’ve liked to, or get out as much as I wanted to.

My workflow for Lightroom has also been consistent to the previous weeks. Keeping it basic with exposure, cropping, leveling, vibrancy, contrast and so on. Usually while photographing, I would take multiple pictures changing the settings every so often.

Remaining Three Days

Reflection

Week three was a little challenging as I am dealing with physical issues on top of everything, however I still really enjoyed and was able to get out and take photos. I didn’t realize while taking photos, but I wish I experimented more with shutter speed – rather than looking for high detail, but playing with the technique to create intriguing pictures. There is a huge possibility I will do this during week four for fun. Editing has been easier, again, because I take photos of the same thing until I’m satisfied with how it looks. Some pictures did turn out darker than I thought they were, which I tried to correct in Lightroom. This week was really fun because of weather change! I was able to get photos with different lighting and colours because flora is starting to bud, this also brought an incredibly windy, cold storm, that initially made me sick after being out. Throughout the three weeks I have taken many photos that I wish to post, all will be found on the menu page.
